What do you do when there is so much happening in life and feel like you have lost control?
It can certainly feel like this due to the impact of the pandemic on our family, finance, freedom, health and overall way of life. Whatever we are going through, we need to find ways to adapt so that we can cope and look after ourselves and our families. When life is not balanced, we must find ways to bring it back to balance.
When I am struggling to cope with the challenges of life, I try to bring everything back to basics: Simple life. Too many things will drain your energy. Something has got to give, we will not be able to give the same amount of energy to everything. We might not cope and could fall apart. There is a time to be ambitious and there are times where we have to just slow down and enjoy what we have.
Over the past few years, I've had to stop writing this blog and a few other things that I enjoy in order to provide time for my family and health (both mental and physical health). Bringing everything back to basics and focusing on the important pillars provided breathing space. It may show weakness that I am not able to cope but at this point I think it has made me stronger because I have preserved my mental health and what is important to me. It allowed me to remain positive.
So when you are feeling unbalanced, focus on the most important things first. Focus on what you can control. Lead a simple life, cut back on what you can for now. You can revisit it later on when you are feeling refreshed and energised.
