To be successful you need to understand what success is. Everyone has their own definition of success. Don't let other people's opinions of success affect yours. Only you will know what you really want. Don't work hard toward someone else's success, work towards your own success. Remember success does not necessarily mean having loads of money. Many people are highly successful without having a lot of money. It really depends on what their definition of success is. Begin by defining what is your success? What do you want to achieve? Sit down, have a think and write all your thoughts down.
I like to define my success because only then will I know what being successful really means. Once you know what your success is, then you can work backwards on what you need to do in order to get there. Set your own path.
It might be hard to have one clear definition and this is perfectly fine. So I look into all aspects of life and break down my definition into smaller chunks to make it easier. My definition of success is to have a completely balanced life where all forces are in equilibrium. To achieve this I need to have success in areas of my life that are important to me:
Success in health, success in family, success in friendship, success in wealth, success in society.
Success in health means looking after my health through proper rest, nutrition, exercise and meditation.
Success in family means being able to raise a happy, strong and united family. My kids will be able to explore every opportunity and experience in life.
Success in friendship means being able to have friends that I can depend on and who can depend on me. Having friends who are there for each other through ups and downs.
Success in wealth means being financially free so money does not control me.
Success in society means making any positive impact on society.
As you can see, there are many definitions to success and its ok to have multiple defintions of success for yourself as long as you know clearly what you want to achieve. Once you have a clear understanding, you can set yourself short term, medium term and long term goals to reach your success. Regularly review your defintions as these may change along the way.
Remember to take small wins & celebrate your successes along the way. It is more about the journey rather than the end goal!
Brian Tracy - Personal Success
Life is a path, every step could be up or down, you will face many obstacles, there will be happiness and sadness, it will be very hard. You will fall off this path and you will get back on. Each time you get back on, you will keep getting better at staying on. Equip yourself with the right mindset, develop resilience, build your mental, physical, spiritual strength, you will be able to truly achieve the right balance on this path of life.
The Balancing Path was started to help people learn how to build a balance in life. I hope to share the skills that I have learnt over the years that have helped me stay on the balancing path of life. I am fortunate to call Australia home, the land of opportunity. Unfortunately it has not been easy to get to where I am today. Follow me on this blog as I share the path I have taken, currently taking and will take in order to achieve success in health, family, friendships, finance, work and ultimately life.
We all have the gift of learning and building knowledge. Why not share the knowledge we have with the people around us? If all successful people can share their knowledge, imagine the positive impact it will have not just on the people around them but the whole society. By knowledge, I mean the knowledge to get through life.
I don't acclaim to know everything and I am still learning. However I will try my best to share what I know. If this blog can have a positive impact on the life of 1 individual, I have accomplished my objective.
Join me on my path and feel free to share your story.
